" If you want to teach a child a second language, you must begin before the age of 6. Maria Montessori, Discovering Minds" Explosion into reading. Writing followed by reading. Through phonetic material and sensorial activities the child will learn vocabulary. After he is taught the sound of a letter by touching and seeing the symbol, he sends the image to his brain, later the child gets to know that words are his. The child starts to analyze the words, and then he realizes that to understand them is to use them and to use them is to belong to the world. When the child shows he is ready he will start building single words phonetically. At the age of five (or five and a half), most of the time, the child will start reading without even noticing.
